Over the last few years, I have worked on a project that has been one of the most intriguing and inspiring things I have ever been a part of: the creation and emergence of a community fund, from an idea to what became Kingston Common Futures.

Kingston Common Futures’ purpose is to challenge historic imbalances of power and systems of oppression while working towards an inclusive and collaborative ecosystem empowered to serve the common good.

Good Work Institute is thrilled to announce the culmination of a multi-year collaborative design process that tackled how to create a democratically-controlled community fund for the benefit of Kingston.

We are only a few months out from being able to publicly announce and then support the launch of a new community fund in Kingston!

At its core, this project is about shifting power. As the first stage of the design process wraps, I’d like to share some reflections about my experience and perspective about power through the design process.
