A Conversation with Nate Hagens

Join us Tuesday May 2nd from 6-8pm at the Barn at Kingston Home Port and Education Center at the Hudson River Maritime Museum for a conversation with Nate Hagens preparing society for the coming cultural transition. 

The purpose is to inform more humans about the path ahead and inspire people to play a role in our collective future. Those who look through a systems lens can serve as early visionaries of a simpler life with new ways of relating to technology, to consumption, to each other and to Earth’s ecosystems. 

Kingston Community Conflict Resilience

 “Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it”– Mahatma Gandhi

What would be possible for Kingston if conflict wasn’t getting in the way of your/your organization’s important work with other organizations?  And when conflict does happen, what if it could actually lead to growth? What if more connection and collaboration was actually possible on the other side? 
In collaboration with Nicole Bauman, we’ll spend time learning new language and tools, through practice, connection and conversation so that we may become more resilient during times of adversity to strengthen the fabric of our beloved community.

This immersive day will not be focused on tending to current conflicts, but instead, an opportunity to engage with these questions in community and start to build some tools and skills for conflict resilience. We’ll be sure to keep your taste buds happy by providing a light breakfast and a satisfying lunch.

Info Sessions – Fund Design

Applications are open! We welcome everyone to apply and we are happy to answer your questions.

Good Work Institute is facilitating a six-month journey for 8-20 diverse Kingston residents to collaborate with each other and to engage the larger community in deciding on the structure and mission of a Just Transition-aligned pilot community fund.

This online info session is a place for you to get answers to your questions about the 6-month fund design program and about this community fund project in general.

Hudson Valley Prosperity Network Meeting

Come and learn about the history of our network, where we are going, and how you can plug in. Plus, we will have a special showcase of bioregional businesses to contribute to the conversation about building a regenerative local economy. This will be the first in a 4-part series aiming to mobilize a valley-wide shift towards bioregional economics.

The Hudson Valley Prosperity Network (HVPN) is focused on developing a shared understanding of what a resilient economy looks like, and how to build it with our local communities. We believe that the current economic system is in need of a radical re-imagining and restructuring as we look to leverage the tools of community finance to create a more just local economy.

No RSVP necessary, free and open to all.

Authentic Movement

Using simple templates that create connection with all participants and a safe circle, we will practice deep listening to ourselves and each other. The structure of Authentic Movement invites us to move (eyes closed) from inner motivation, and also witness our experience of observing human expression.  Everyone will have time to be in both roles – witness and mover. Collectively there is time for writing/drawing and verbal sharing of our experiences.  
Participants are asked to arrive promptly and stay until the closing circle. Bring your own writing and drawing supplies.Please refrain from wearing scents/perfumes.
