Hola, soy Chelsea y form\u00e9 parte de la primera promoci\u00f3n del Good Work Institute\u2019s Laboratorio de l\u00edderes solidarios<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando Micah dio la bienvenida a nuestro grupo en nuestro primer encuentro presencial, dijo:, \u201cSi est\u00e1s aqu\u00ed, es porque ten\u00edas que estar aqu\u00ed\u201d.\u201d<\/em>  Ya volver\u00e9 sobre este tema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llegu\u00e9 al Leaders Lab con una idea clara del tipo de l\u00edder que quer\u00eda ser. A lo largo de mi carrera, siempre he buscado una estrella polar. Me ha atra\u00eddo el trabajo que une a las personas, crea comunidad y ayuda a la gente a imaginar lo que es posible. Pero seguir una estrella polar no siempre significa que tengas un mapa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estoy profundamente agradecida con GWI. El Laboratorio de L\u00edderes Solidarios me brind\u00f3 ese mapa. Me fui con algo mucho m\u00e1s profundo que un conjunto de habilidades de liderazgo. Me fui con una pr\u00e1ctica y, lo que es igual de importante, con una comunidad de pr\u00e1ctica. El plan de estudios me desafi\u00f3, me dio solidez y me brind\u00f3 formas pr\u00e1cticas de mantenerme alineada con esa Estrella Polar, incluso cuando el trabajo es complicado o incierto. No cambi\u00f3 qui\u00e9n quer\u00eda ser como l\u00edder. Me dio la confianza, las herramientas y las relaciones para convertirme en esa l\u00edder con mayor intenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploramos el liderazgo compartido, la comunicaci\u00f3n no violenta, la facilitaci\u00f3n, los estilos de liderazgo, los manifiestos, el pensamiento sist\u00e9mico, las estructuras alternativas de participaci\u00f3n en las utilidades, flocking<\/a>, y lo que realmente significa desenvolvernos en el mundo en relaci\u00f3n con los dem\u00e1s. Cada sesi\u00f3n nos invitaba a pensar de manera diferente sobre el poder. No como algo que hay que acumular, sino como algo que hay que cultivar juntos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todo esto podr\u00eda haber parecido muy te\u00f3rico. Sin embargo, cada ejercicio, cada conversaci\u00f3n, cada pr\u00e1ctica se basaba en una pregunta sencilla: \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos convertirnos en el tipo de l\u00edderes que este momento exige y qu\u00e9 debemos hacer para lograrlo?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las personas presentes en la sala reflejaban esa pregunta. Los agricultores se sentaban junto a los artistas. Los organizadores, junto a los empresarios. Los educadores, junto a los l\u00edderes de organizaciones sin fines de lucro. Muchos de nosotros encaj\u00e1bamos en varias de estas categor\u00edas. No est\u00e1bamos all\u00ed porque trabaj\u00e1ramos en el mismo campo. Est\u00e1bamos all\u00ed porque compart\u00edamos la convicci\u00f3n de que el futuro se construir\u00e1 de manera intersectorial, a trav\u00e9s de las relaciones entre unos y otros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La imagen que llevo conmigo es la del micelio. Una red subterr\u00e1nea que nutre a todo un bosque. En eso se ha convertido esta cohorte. Todos hemos regresado a nuestras propias comunidades, pero seguimos conectados. Nos llamamos. Colaboramos. Nos desafiamos mutuamente. Nos felicitamos unos a otros. Cada nueva cohorte ampl\u00eda esa red viva y me emociona tener el privilegio de ser testigo de ese impacto colectivo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tambi\u00e9n agradezco profundamente que el Good Work Institute se esfuerce tanto por poner en pr\u00e1ctica sus valores y haya hecho que esta experiencia sea accesible desde el punto de vista econ\u00f3mico. El GWI entiende que, si realmente queremos formar a los l\u00edderes que nuestras comunidades necesitan, esas oportunidades deben estar al alcance de las personas por su compromiso, visi\u00f3n y pasi\u00f3n, y no por su presupuesto. Gracias a las fundaciones y donantes que lo hicieron posible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No dejo de pensar en c\u00f3mo ser\u00edan nuestras comunidades si as\u00ed fuera como ense\u00f1\u00e1ramos el liderazgo desde el principio. En lugar de ense\u00f1ar a las personas que el liderazgo consiste en maximizar las ganancias, ascender en la escala jer\u00e1rquica o ser quien tiene todas las respuestas, les ense\u00f1\u00e1ramos a escuchar con atenci\u00f3n, a compartir el poder, a manejar los conflictos con compasi\u00f3n, a confiar en la sabidur\u00eda colectiva y a construir relaciones duraderas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esa es la invitaci\u00f3n que hace el Good Work Institute. Est\u00e1n formando l\u00edderes que entienden que el trabajo que nos espera no consiste en ser la voz m\u00e1s fuerte de la sala, sino en ayudar a una comunidad a descubrir su propia voz. Y, sinceramente, creo que ese es el tipo de liderazgo del que depende nuestro futuro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volver\u00e9 a lo que Micah nos dijo ese primer d\u00eda: \u201cSi est\u00e1s aqu\u00ed, es porque ten\u00edas que estar aqu\u00ed\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creo que eso es cierto esta noche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A menudo hablamos de cambiar el mundo como si eso pasara en otro lado. Pero la verdad es que eso pasa en cualquier lugar donde las personas decidan invertir unas en otras. Pasa cuando formamos l\u00edderes que saben c\u00f3mo compartir el poder, generar confianza y est\u00e1n convencidos de que se necesita un nuevo paradigma para entender el poder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ese es el trabajo que est\u00e1 realizando el Good Work Institute. Y lo m\u00e1s hermoso es que no se queda ah\u00ed. Se propaga a trav\u00e9s de cada uno de nosotros, en cada reuni\u00f3n que facilitamos, en cada organizaci\u00f3n que fortalecemos, en cada joven al que orientamos, en cada conflicto que resolvemos, en cada comunidad a la que ayudamos a imaginar lo que es posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todos formamos parte de esa onda expansiva. Todos formamos parte de esa historia. Y no se me ocurre una historia mejor para escribir juntos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
