La savia corre, los gansos vuelan hacia el norte (los he o\u00eddo por la noche, \u00a1pensaba que s\u00f3lo volaban de d\u00eda!), los narcisos ya miden veinte cent\u00edmetros de altura y las campanillas de invierno, delicadamente colgantes, merodean junto a las \u00faltimas nieves ocultas en las sombras. Vivo lo bastante cerca de la naturaleza como para darme cuenta de estas cosas. \u00bfCu\u00e1ndo florecer\u00e1 la forsitia? Pronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfHabr\u00eda sido m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil si la avalancha de decretos hubiera llegado ahora, en lugar de en la \u00e9poca m\u00e1s oscura y fr\u00eda del a\u00f1o? Hasta 1933, el d\u00eda de la toma de posesi\u00f3n se celebraba el 4 de marzo, un momento mucho m\u00e1s apropiado para marcar los nuevos comienzos. Pero en aras de una transici\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida, menos \"pato cojo\" y m\u00e1s rapidez de acci\u00f3n, se traslad\u00f3. Un \u00e1guila calva desafi\u00f3 a la gravedad planeando lentamente hasta un \u00e1rbol alto y desnudo. El aire estaba cargado de cantos de p\u00e1jaros. No era <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Silent_Spring\">Primavera silenciosa<\/a>. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 pude escuchar esta magn\u00edfica cacofon\u00eda? La regulaci\u00f3n federal de las tecnolog\u00edas contaminantes y la inversi\u00f3n en tecnolog\u00eda limpia; la protecci\u00f3n federal del medio ambiente; y la financiaci\u00f3n federal de la investigaci\u00f3n que nos ayuda a intentar comprender las complejidades e interdependencias de las ecolog\u00edas de las que dependemos, y los parajes naturales que nos restauran.
