Fue directora de comunicaciones de la Fundaci\u00f3n Khyentse, una organizaci\u00f3n filantr\u00f3pica budista, durante 16 a\u00f1os y sigue siendo presidenta del comit\u00e9 de educaci\u00f3n de KF. Pas\u00f3 tres a\u00f1os en But\u00e1n desarrollando alternativas educativas en asociaci\u00f3n con el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n y el Consejo Real de Educaci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n es escritora. Ha publicado art\u00edculos de no ficci\u00f3n en The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Tricicle, The Shambhala Sun y Marie Claire, entre otros. Ha publicado ficci\u00f3n en VICE Magazine, Glimmer Train y The Raven. Escribi\u00f3 Nature, Creativity, and Our Collective Future (Palace Press, 2007), y colabor\u00f3 en Global Perspectives on Spirituality in Education (Routledge, 2013).
