Su trabajo consiste en manifestar la liberaci\u00f3n personal en equilibrio con el compromiso comunitario. Willoughby tiene un m\u00e1ster en Biblioteconom\u00eda y Ciencias de la Informaci\u00f3n por la Palmer School de la Universidad de Long Island (2011), un m\u00e1ster en Literatura Inglesa por la Universidad de Montana (2006) y es licenciada por el Bard College (2003). En 2013, Willoughby fue seleccionada como una de las \"Movers &amp; Shakers\" de Library Journal en la categor\u00eda de constructora de comunidades. En 2014, fue galardonada con el Vermont Pride Award por su activismo en la comunidad LGBTQ.
