En este episodio de La Hora del Buen Trabajo, las copresentadoras Terri y Helene dan la bienvenida a dos invitados cuyo Buen Trabajo se centra en el periodismo local. Con tantas formas de recibir y consumir noticias, especialmente con las redes sociales, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 es importante el periodismo local? \u00bfQu\u00e9 pierden nuestras comunidades cuando no disponemos de cobertura informativa local f\u00e1cilmente accesible? \u00bfC\u00f3mo podemos apoyar y asegurarnos de que contamos con fuentes de noticias locales fiables? Debatiremos estas y otras cuestiones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Fuerst vive en Rhinebeck con su familia desde hace 25 a\u00f1os. Antes de trasladarse a Rhinebeck, fue Director General de la emisora de radio p\u00fablica WXPN de Filadelfia y productor ejecutivo del servicio nacional de radio \"The World Cafe\". Durante los \u00faltimos veinte a\u00f1os, Mark ha estudiado el impacto de los medios digitales en la radio y la televisi\u00f3n p\u00fablicas de Estados Unidos. Y en los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os, se ha centrado en el papel de la radio p\u00fablica como fuerza del periodismo local. Este a\u00f1o, Mark decidi\u00f3 aplicar la investigaci\u00f3n que estaba realizando para ayudar a reconstruir las noticias locales en el Valle del Hudson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phillip Pantuso ayuda a dirigir la cobertura del valle del Hudson en el Times Union. Anteriormente fue redactor jefe de The River Newsroom. Ha colaborado con The Guardian, The New York Times y Literary Hub, entre otras publicaciones. Es licenciado en periodismo por la Universidad de Nueva York, profesor del departamento de periodismo de SUNY New Paltz y vive en Kingston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
