Viviendo junto al arroyo Esopus, profundizamos en nuestra comunidad a trav\u00e9s del trabajo cooperativo, el juego y el compartir el pan juntos. <\/em><\/strong>Esta es la visi\u00f3n de Cantine's Island Cohousing Community en Saugerties, un vecindario familiar donde miembros de varias generaciones viven cooperativamente en diecinueve casas de propiedad privada situadas en m\u00e1s de 9,5 acres de terreno de propiedad comunitaria. En este episodio de The Good Work Hour, las copresentadoras Terri y Susan cuentan con la presencia de Cara DeVito y Dorothy Varner, dos residentes de esta comunidad que rompe el aislamiento y trabaja por una Transici\u00f3n Justa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cara DeVito<\/strong> es una documentalista independiente que trabaj\u00f3 20 a\u00f1os en NBC Network News, en Nueva York, como editora y productora de segmentos informativos. Su trabajo se centra en contar historias de gente corriente que hace cosas extraordinarias para superar la injusticia. Hace 22 a\u00f1os se traslad\u00f3 de Nueva York al valle del Hudson. En el Valle del Hudson ha producido pel\u00edculas para la Biblioteca Presidencial FDR, ha trabajado con ni\u00f1os autistas y para el Instituto Omega. En su b\u00fasqueda de formas de construir comunidad, se uni\u00f3 a la comunidad de Cohousing de Cantine's Island en Saugerties, hace 8 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorothy Varner<\/strong>\u00a0trabaja como educadora al aire libre en la Middle Way School de Saugerties. Tambi\u00e9n ofrece programas de naturaleza para j\u00f3venes a trav\u00e9s de un club local de chicos y chicas.
