Creada por Eva Tenuto tras la muerte de su esposa, Julie Novak, La vida despu\u00e9s | La vida despu\u00e9s de la muerte<\/em> es una serie \u00edntima de pinturas en t\u00e9cnica mixta que surgi\u00f3 de un per\u00edodo de profunda p\u00e9rdida. A trav\u00e9s de superficies en capas, trazos intuitivos y materiales que en ocasiones incorporan fragmentos que dej\u00f3 Novak, la obra traza un camino a trav\u00e9s del duelo, la memoria y un terreno nuevo e incierto. \u201cEsta serie de obras ha sido tanto una b\u00fasqueda como un b\u00e1lsamo\u201d, dijo Tenuto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Muchos conocen a Tenuto como cofundador y director ejecutivo de Proyecto TMI<\/a>, la organizaci\u00f3n de narraci\u00f3n de historias reconocida internacionalmente que fund\u00f3 junto a Novak en 2010. Durante m\u00e1s de diecis\u00e9is a\u00f1os, ha ayudado a miles de personas a trav\u00e9s del arte y el oficio de contar historias. Esta experiencia, dice ella, \u201cno se puede describir con palabras\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cEsa sensaci\u00f3n de estar en otro mundo, de encontrarte sin ataduras, con la vida tal como la conoc\u00edas siempre fuera de tu alcance, no se puede explicar con palabras. Solo se puede explorar.\u201d Trabajando con diversos medios \u2014pintura acr\u00edlica, barras de \u00f3leo, pasteles al \u00f3leo, pintura en aerosol, pasta para moldear, medio brillante, fibra y collage\u2014, Tenuto crea pinturas de rica textura que invitan a los espectadores a explorar junto a ella. \u201cA trav\u00e9s de esta obra, busco conectarme conmigo misma y con todo lo que existe y que no podemos ver\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Una parte de esta colecci\u00f3n se present\u00f3 por primera vez a principios de este a\u00f1o en la exposici\u00f3n colectiva Ma\u00f1ana sabremos m\u00e1s<\/em> en la Galer\u00eda Lockwood de Kingston. La curadora invitada, Dorothea Marcus, dijo: \u201cHab\u00eda seguido de cerca el extraordinario desarrollo de Eva como artista durante los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os. Estaba ansiosa por invitarla a participar en una exposici\u00f3n en la galer\u00eda. Pude dedicarle una sala completa a su obra. Los visitantes quedaron profundamente conmovidos por sus pinturas y cautivados por su belleza y originalidad\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tenuto obtuvo su licenciatura en Bellas Artes en el Hunter College, donde se especializ\u00f3 en pintura abstracta bajo la tutor\u00eda de Joanna Pousette-Dart. Ha continuado su pr\u00e1ctica art\u00edstica en el estudio a trav\u00e9s de la Escuela de Arte de Woodstock, donde estudi\u00f3 pintura al \u00f3leo cl\u00e1sica con Hongnian Zhang, t\u00e9cnicas mixtas con Ransom y abstracci\u00f3n con Melanie Delgado. Delgado dijo: \u201cLas pinturas de Tenuto captan tu atenci\u00f3n de inmediato. Al pararte frente a su obra, uno puede sentir como si estuviera flotando hacia un mundo completamente nuevo\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
