\u00a1Acomp\u00e1\u00f1anos en una sesi\u00f3n doble para celebrar la historia detr\u00e1s del surgimiento de Kingston Common Futures, un fondo comunitario impulsado por el coraz\u00f3n y creado a trav\u00e9s de un proceso colaborativo de varios a\u00f1os!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kingston Common Futures (KCF) es un fondo de subvenciones dise\u00f1ado por y para la gente de Kingston. Se cre\u00f3 a partir de un proceso \u00fanico de 9 meses en el que participaron 18 residentes de Kingston, facilitado por GWI, y que dio como resultado un plan para el fondo. En 2025, bas\u00e1ndose en ese dise\u00f1o, KCF distribuy\u00f3 $150K en subvenciones a 11 proyectos comunitarios a trav\u00e9s de un proceso transparente, solidario y democr\u00e1tico. Hemos creado dos documentales cortos para compartir una mirada detr\u00e1s de c\u00e1maras sobre la creaci\u00f3n y el lanzamiento de este hermoso proyecto, \u00a1y estamos ansiosos por compartirlos contigo!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La pel\u00edcula de GWI narra c\u00f3mo la idea de un fondo impulsado por la comunidad se convirti\u00f3 en realidad, a trav\u00e9s de la creaci\u00f3n y la facilitaci\u00f3n de un programa de dise\u00f1o de fondos comunitarios. El documental ofrece una visi\u00f3n de c\u00f3mo fue reunir a 18 residentes de Kingston para abordar grandes preguntas en torno a un tema tab\u00fa: el dinero y qui\u00e9n tiene poder sobre \u00e9l. GWI est\u00e1 muy agradecida de haber trabajado con Kashka Glowacka, Chris Rahm y Devin Pickering en Northguild<\/a>, para crear este conmovedor relato sobre c\u00f3mo un grupo de desconocidos puede unirse para dise\u00f1ar conjuntamente un fondo a pesar de sus diferencias, aportando una amplia variedad de or\u00edgenes y experiencias de vida, y forjando v\u00ednculos profundos en el proceso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La pel\u00edcula de KCF \u201cImagine if\u201d fue creada por Pel\u00edculas sobre el cultivo<\/a> dirigido por la cineasta Sarah Carlson, con sede en Kingston. La pel\u00edcula responde a la pregunta: \u00bfqu\u00e9 sucede cuando confiamos en que las comunidades administren los fondos y recursos por s\u00ed mismas? Resulta que sucede mucho, mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la simple distribuci\u00f3n de dinero. Con la tarea de asignar $150,000 en financiamiento, el equipo detr\u00e1s de KCF cre\u00f3 un proceso de subvenciones que se aleja de las pr\u00e1cticas filantr\u00f3picas de arriba hacia abajo, al centrarse en la accesibilidad, la transparencia y la participaci\u00f3n de la comunidad en cada paso. Se invit\u00f3 a los vecinos a participar en el trabajo conjunto de so\u00f1ar, establecer metas y dar forma al futuro que desean ver. M\u00e1s de 200 personas participaron como solicitantes, voluntarios, mentores, coordinadores de divulgaci\u00f3n y tomadores de decisiones. A lo largo del proceso, estos participantes profundizaron sus relaciones con su comunidad y entre ellos mismos, desarrollaron confianza en su capacidad para generar cambios y fortalecieron su sentido de pertenencia y de arraigo. La pel\u00edcula captura de manera hermosa los efectos en cadena y la magia inesperada de este trabajo. Ofrece una visi\u00f3n esperanzadora de c\u00f3mo el dinero puede transformarse de una herramienta de explotaci\u00f3n a un recurso para la regeneraci\u00f3n, el cuidado y las posibilidades compartidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tras la proyecci\u00f3n habr\u00e1 una sesi\u00f3n de preguntas y respuestas con los equipos de GWI y KCF. Hay estacionamiento en la calle disponible a lo largo de toda la zona ribere\u00f1a, incluso debajo del puente. Se ofrecer\u00e1n botanas y refrescos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
